Ice Cream Sunday

On Sunday Heather, Baby Xan, Uncle Harold and Great Grandpa came down. Grandma and Papa came over and after lunch we all made homemade ice cream! Gavin was a good cranker (hey, you have to work if you want to eat) and patiently waited until it was done. Right before the ice cream was done Grandpa Jim came back from fishing and look what he caught!!

A day on the farm

Saturday Larissa and Reyana came over and we decided to take the kids to Jessie's farm to see the baby piggies and baby chicks. The kids had a GREAT time! They got to play with a couple little piggies and see the BIG mommy pigs. And pet the cat, and chase the dog, and see the horse and even hold some baby chickens. After all our hard work touring the farm the kids played for awhile and then decided it was time for a nap on the hammock! I think they all had a good time!

Papa's little helper

Papa was over Thursday night puttying and sanding the walls in our hallway so we could repaint it. OF COURSE once Gavin saw Papa working he HAD to help him. Good thing he didn't realize Papa was sanding and he was just

playing with a roller. You can tell he's all boy since he's only wearing underware! And what color did we paint it (and if you know me you know it's not white)? Well I guess you'll just have to come see us to find out!

The Grocery Man

I went to WalMart after work tonite. I had a lot of groceries to put away so I put the frozen stuff away and went to check my email. When I came back to put the rest away I found a 'grocery train' with the cutest little 2 yr old conductor. The best part was that the conductor actually knew where the groceries went and was putting them away all on his own. It was so nice!! Hopefully the grocery train (complete with the woo woos and all aboards) will stop by again the next time I go shopping!

Tookie time!

Gavin's cousins came over Thursday night and we decorated Easter cookies. The girls did a good job and Gavin was content just watching, for awhile. But then he decided HE wanted to decorate, so Grandma helped him out a little bit. I think everyone had a good time and the mess wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. And Mommy ended up with a nice basket of tookies to take to work! But I think Gavin must have eaten a few too many cookies because he was still awake at 12:30. Oops! (ok one of these days I'll figure out how to put the photos by the words that describe them. One of these days hopefully!)

It's time for a change!

Hey, guess what? (see I told you I said that a lot) I got a new job! Woohoo!!!!! Starting April 23 I will be working for Farm Credit Services of America in their Beatrice office. I'm sooooo excited I can't wait to start. My friend Erin works there so it will be nice to know someone already. There are a few people from my current job I will miss but it will be a great opportunity for me with A LOT of advancement opportunity. But I have to dress up every day  I don't know if my body will know how to function out of jeans and comfy shoes.

Birthday party, Birthday party, Birthday party!!

Gavin threw me a birthday party last night. He went shopping with Grandma and picked out the plates, napkins, and cups. He got white cups for the boys, pink cups for the girls, big pink cups for the Mommies and the Dabs could just drink beer. (Think he's been spending too much time at the gas station with Dab and Unk Dean?) Then last Sunday we went to WalMart and he picked out a cake. After 20 minutes and three trips through the cake book he finally settled on a cake that had Happy Birthday candles. So we went to order it and when we got to the design I pointed to the one he picked out and said he likes this but in green. To which he quickly replied No wait, WAIT. We want a Diego cake. So the lady showed us the Diego cake they had and Gavin pointed at it and said Right there, that's it! So being the nice Mommy I am, I had a Diego cake at my party. And Gavin and Grandma went in Friday and ordered the balloons too. I must say Gavin is quite the little party planner!
